Nairobi, KENYA: Confusion gripped Orange Democratic party offices in Nairobi after Youths of one of the aspirants in Embakasi south Ward stormed the offices for failing to release the nomination certificate.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Mukuru ODM aspirant Phinis Akose, accused the ODM leadership for frustrating the release of the certificate despite the fact that she received a provisional certificate.

“I came yesterday and they gave me provisional certificate ,they told me they will call me on 1st . We didnt have any case i have been waiting for it.”Akose said.

The confusion led to the closure of the ODM offices temporarily after the intervention of the police.

Her supporters accused the forces within ODM leadership which plans to clandestinely give the certificate to a candidate who was position eight in the nomination .

Akose has asked the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the party’s elections chair Judy Pareno to intervene and salvage that situation.

“Am asking Raila Odinga and Pareno to intervene on this matter. Efforts to reach Pareno were futile as she doesn’t pick our calls.” She said.

The ODM leadership has not issued any statement on the same.
