Nairobi,KENYA:The Kenya Private Sector Alliance KEPSA has appointed Mr. Nicholas Nesbitt as the new Chair.
The announcement was made on Tuesday a few days after KEPSA’s Annual General Meeting that took place on April 27th 2017.
Mr. Nesbitt, who also doubles up as the General Manager IBM East Africa, takes over the mantle from Ambassador Dennis Awori the Chairman of Toyota Kenya Limited .
“KEPSA has emerged as a respected leader worldwide and a force to reckon with and many seek to learn from us and our experiences, ” Mr. Nesbitt remarked during the AGM.
On Kenya’s Global Index Competitive ranking, Mr. Nesbitt said that the country should equally focus on Local Direct Investment LDI as it does on Foreign Direct Investment FDI to grow the economy.
“Political stability is key to the transformative agenda of ensuring competitiveness of the country as a business and investment destination, ” he advised the political class especially as Kenyans prepare to participate in the August 8th polls.
On the other hand KEPSA CEO, Ms. Carole concluded that KEPSA continues to strengthen its engagement structures to meet the needs of its members and support investment through policy reforms which were critical to the country’s development agenda.
