Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended his family initiative Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation over corruption allegations.

This follows the decision by the Government on Tuesday through Non-Government Organizations Coordination Board to suspend operations of the foundation on allegations of engaging in money laundering and operating illegal accounts.

Responding to the move on Wednesday, Kalonzo blamed the state for politicizing the matter claiming the foundation has met all the requirements and that its accountability is indisputable.

” I wonder why somebody can come up with such malicious allegations against the foundation. Let’s not politicize everything in this country, the foundation which started at the constituency level has now gone national to help needy Kenyans,”

”Through the foundation over 2,000 youth from Kitui, Makueni Machakos and Kisii counties are able to continue with their studies,” he said.

The NASA coalition deputy leader further said he has not been served with a letter regarding the closure of the foundation and that the Non-Government Organization coordination board  has no authority to act in that capacity.

He however disclosed Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation board of directors are; former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka (trustee and patron), wife Pauline (trustee and chairperson), his son Kennedy (secretary) and Martha Mulwa (treasurer).

The Government had warned it will de-register the foundation and also disband its board of directors alleging it failed to accounts for Sh196 million received from donors.
