Kwale, KENYA: Kwale governor Salim Mvurya has vehemently lashed out at the NASA leadership terming it as a group of political schemers who are out to manipulate the public for their selfish gains.

Mvurya further accused the NASA big wigs for forgetting the plights of the public hence championing for their interests in pretence that they are out to serve them.

Addressing his people at Mulafyeni village in Kwale County on Tuesday when commissioning development projects, governor Mvurya challenged the NASA leaders to show their development track records for the public to audit them.

“We all know very well what is going on in Kibera even at this point in time people are still using flying toilets and honorable Raila served as the legislator of that area for a number of years. I want to challenge you Raila tell us what you did to combat the same?” Mvurya posed.

Mvurya took issue with each one of them for failing to deliver the time they served in government on different capacities.

“When you look at Ukambani where honorable Kalonzo Musyaka who is the Wiper party leader a member of the NASA team, water is still a problem even as we speak, Kalonzo what is it you did to avert the situation,” Mvurya added.

Governor Mvurya who is campaigning for a second term on a Jubilee ticket said his being fought left and right because of his sound development track record and his stand to ditch the opposition.

“The same is being experienced in the Luhya land where Musalia Mdavadi has been in power since the death of his father there are no tangible development projects that can be linked to him. So if you have no proven track records for just the areas you come from how do you expect us to trust you for the national leadership” Mvurya asked.

According to former chairman of Kwale Town Council Mshenga Ruga, the governor has been sidelined by local leaders hence paving way for unnecessary battles.

“Just after the elections Mvurya was abandoned by both the women Rep Zainab Chidzuga as well as the late senator Boy Juma Boy and has been struggling to serve alone and defend himself, that’s why I tender my candidature to support him to realize his dream for this area,” Mshenga said.

This comes as Former Cabinet Minister Chirau Ali Makwere  announced his bid to vie for the Kwale Governor position through a Wiper Ticket.
