Nairobi, KENYA: Jubilee administration has refuted opposition chief Raila Odinga’s claims that the government is syndicating sh. 83 billion  to international bank loans which are not meant for development.

In a quick rejoinder addressing journalists at parliamentary buildings on Friday, majority leader Aden Duale downplayed Odingas claims saying that the government through parliament accounts for the usage of its funds through appropriation of such funds every year.

“Raila Odinga  can as well go to Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission or controller of budget ,he cannot raise issues that he cant substantiate .” Duale said

Duale accused Raila of looking for a scapegoat after sensing that Jubilee will carry the day in the upcoming August general election thus starting smearing campaign tactics towards the government.

On Friday Raila accused Jubilee administration of  syndicating billions of shillings following the expansion of government’s external debts.

“As we speak, Jubilee is syndicating 800 million dollars to international bank loans not for development. The day of reckoning is here with us. Those who thought it would never come can now see for themselves.  Companies are retrenching daily.  The stock market is in free fall. The shilling is being propped up by massive Central Bank of Kenya interventions.”Odinga said

“Many suppliers are facing financial ruin as banks recall loans they cannot pay.”Odinga added

He accused Jubilee of failing to address massive corruption which is adversely affecting the country after Transparency International released a report implicating Kenya as one of the countries affected with corrupt tendencies in the wolrd.
