Mombasa, KENYA: Coast based Kenyan Premier League club Bandari FC will hosts soldiers Ulinzi Stars on Sunday in a friendly match as both teams shape up for the upcoming 2017 season.

Bandari’s assistant head coach Kennedy Odhiambo told Baraka FM on Friday that the Dockers who resumed training earlier January, are keen to improve on their technical ability terming the clash perfect for his players.

“We have been training hard in the past two weeks, the players have been put to their paces but we are yet to gauge ourselves against a strong opponent since the close of the season that’s why opted to play Ulinzi,’’ he said.

He also disclosed that the club is finalizing on contractual talks with former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards striker Jacob Keli and experience defender Noah Abich, who previously turned out for Mathare United and Sofapaka.

“The club’s hierarchy is at an advanced talk with the two players and I believe they could soon pen a deal with Bandari, they are good players who will add value to the club should they sign with us,’’ Odhiambo said.

Bandari has been restructuring under the new tactician Paul Nkata who joined from Tusker where he won the league title with the Brewers to claim Coach of the Year gong.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars are preparing to represent the country in this year’s CAF Confederations cup where they will come up against Hilal Benghazi of Libya in the preliminaries.
