Nairobi, KENYA: Sportpesa Premier League new boys Nakumatt FC has confirmed the signing of former Bandari FC defender David Gateri barely a week after the player left the Coast based club.

The Shoppers through a Facebook post on Tuesday, affirmed acquiring the services of the leftback on a free transfer and is expected to be part of the team for the 2017 campaign.

Gateri is among the nine players released by Bandari last week in squad overhauling done by head coach Paul Nkata ahead of his first season in charge of the Dockers following his December appointment.

He becomes Nakumatt’s second signing this transfer window after Boniface Akenga who joined the club from Kariobangi Sharks earlier last week.

Nakumatt are gearing up for their maiden topflight football next season set to kick off in February after benefiting from failure by other clubs to get FIFA license to earn a promotion.
