Woman arrested at Moi International Airport with heroin worth sh.10 m

Mombasa, KENYA: Police at Moi international airport Mombasa have arrested an Ivorian woman with heroin suspected to be Worth sh. 10 million.

The 28 year old woman is said to have been traveling to Ivory Coast with the drugs before she was intercepted by detectives.

Danho Boignan Aude Bertie is said to have stashed the  drugs in two bags; a source at the airport told Baraka FM on Saturday.

Police suspect she was transporting the drugs from Mtwapa in Kilifi and was to catch a KQ flight to Nairobi before connecting to Abidjan.

They said the suspect was arrested after receiving reports that she was ferrying the drugs.

She is said to have concealed the drugs in 2 suitcases and sniffer dogs were used to detect the drugs.

Airport OCPD John Otieno told Baraka FM that the suspect is being detained at the Moi International Airport.

“We have one suspect in custody; we are interrogating her. Currently we are waiting for the anti-narcotic team from Nairobi to conduct more investigations.” Said Otieno.

Otieno added that she came to Kenya 4 days ago.

She told police she was lured by a man named Gerald in Ivory Coast to do the clothing business and that she was not aware she was carrying drugs.
