Nairob, KENYA: Kenyan representatives in this year’s CAF Confederation cup Ulinzi Stars are wasting no time bearing in mind what awaits them in the continental showpiece starting next month.

In readiness for the assignment, the soldiers reported to camp on Wednesday morning under the tutelage of tactician Benjamin Nyangweso.

As asserted by the club all players were present for the morning session as Nyangweso took the team through their paces.

According to the management, the team will have a continuous two week training period before playing a series of friendly matches with yet to be named clubs.

Ulinzi who finished third last, have been paired with Libyan side Hilal Bengazi in the preliminary round of the Confederations Cup to be played on the weekend of 10 – 12 February.

Elsewhere, Kenya Premier League bigwigs Gor Mahia will play Sudanese giants Al Hilal in a preseason test match on January 17, as they prepare for the forthcoming 2017 campaign.

K’ogalo will be using the clash to gauge its squad as they plot to claim the title they surrendered to Tusker last season.

While Gor Mahia boasts of wining KPL 15-time, the most by any local club, Al Hilal are the Sudanese champions and are on a record of 27-time.
