Kenyans will start using the Likoni floating pedestrian bridge in January 2021.

Speaking while commissioning the bridge, president Uhuru Kenyatta said the project will ease the human congestion experienced at the Likoni crossing channel.

“ Wananchi now will be able to go about their duties without hindrance”, he said.

The floating bridge- a first in East Africa- was constructed at a cost of sh. 1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Uhuru also launched the construction of a bridge at Makupa causeway.

The construction of the sh 4.5 billion is expected to be completed in January 2022.
