Fewer couples divorced this year compared to last year.
According to the Mombasa Kadhi office report, this year the country recorded 196 divorce cases as compared to last year’s 233.
Consequently, the report shows the number of marriages has reduced this year as compared to last year with only 545 people tying the knot compared to 1033 last year.
Further, the survey shows that the number of cases at Kadhi’s office reduced this year with only 220 cases recorded as compared to last year where 319 complaints were recorded.
All this is said to be attributed to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
