Gor Mahia defender Joash Onyango has signed with Tanzanian side Simba SC.

The 27-year-old, nicknamed ‘Berlin Wall’, becomes the fifth player to be signed by the Tanzanian side from Gor Mahia after Raphael Kiongera, Danny Sserenkuma, Meddie Kagere and Francis Kahata.

Onyango is expected to be part of Simba SC team that will represent Tanzania in the Caf Champions League next season.

“He is an experienced defender who will help the team perform well both domestically and abroad. He will further strengthen our defence and give us a better chance of performing well especially in the Caf Champions league,” said Simba SC.

It is speculated that among reasons that led Onyango to leave the Kenya Premier League giants were the woes facing the club in terms of paying players.

K’Ogalo had not paid the player for several months and he was demanding to be released for breach of contract.
