One person is missing after a boat capsized in Ganahola area of Mikindani, Mombasa county.
The boat ferrying 10 people is reported to have capsized Friday night at around 10pm.
Speaking to Baraka fm area MCA, Renson Thoya said 9 people were rescued by locals on the same night.
According to Thoya, they are hopeful that relevant bodies will assist in the search and rescue because they have reached out to them.
“As at now locals are leading the search and rescue mission of the one person missing, no professional divers have come in to help.” Said Thoya.
Search and rescue efforts by locals are still ongoing to find the one person who is still missing and presumed dead.
