Lawyer Miguna Miguna has accused the government of blocking his entry to Kenya hours after he left Canada for Kenya.
Miguna who is currently In Germany said officials from German airline Lufthansa has blocked him from boarding his flight.
“I am at the Lufthansa Check-In and they are saying the Kenyan security has blocked me from entering Kenya,” He told Capital FM.
“Lufthansa flight manager is saying that the Government of Kenya must send official communication to Lufthansa at Frankfurt office before I can be allowed to fly to Kenya or any other African country,” he added.
This comes just a few hours after the department of immigration said it would comply with a 2018 court order that ordered the government to facilitate his entry back to Kenya.
His flight was supposed to leave the Frankfurt International Airport at 11.25 Kenyan time.
However, the government has termed his hurdles as an immigration issue set to be sorted out by the Ministry of Foreign affairs.
“The government position has not changed, the Immigration Department said it is ready to facilitate his entry at JKIA, but if there are issues he is facing outside our boundaries, that is something that will be dealt with by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” Government spokesman Cyrus Oguna said.
