Almost two years after he referred to Kenyans as ‘peasants’ and threatened to buy a Kenyan radio station and ‘turn it into an ashtray’,BET award winner and Grammy award nominee Burna Boy is set to perform in Mombasa over the festive season if all goes as planned.

The 1991 born singer whose real names are Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu is set to perform on 29th December in a concert dubbed The African giants night hosted by NRG radio.

The artist who won Best International Act at the 2019 BET awards clashed with Kenyans on Twitter in 2017 after referring to them as poor.

Trouble started after the ‘on the low’ singer arrived at 4.00 am for a performance at Club Privee after keeping the revelers waiting for hours.

The singer who seemed highly intoxicated performed for less than an hour forcing the concert goers to take to twitter to air out their concerns.

Following the criticism, the singer went on a spree to unfollow Kenyans on twitter further referring to them as peasants.

This was not the first time the singer was courting controversy, during the 2014 recordings of the Coke Studio Africa, the singer who had been paired with Tanzanian songbird Vanessa Mdee was put on the spotlight over allegedly belittling Mdee during rehearsals.

The singer who is dating British rapper Steflon Don is regarded as one of the most succesful singers of our time having been nominated for a Grammy award last month.
