15 more songs are set to be banned by the Tanzanian government over explicit lyrics and video content.

This is according to the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

“Communication commission (TCRA) has received a list of songs from BASATA which they are looking into. The songs that has been aired and shared by other artists on different media and social media platforms but they do not comply with moral standards.” The Authority said in a statement.

This comes just a few hours after  Rayvanny’s new song which he features his boss  Diamond Platnumz “Mwanza” was banned only a few hours after release.

The new hit song was banned over its obscene lyrics.

The Basata spokesman Godfrey Mngereza said that the song should not be played anywhere in Tanzania claiming it is against the  Tanzanian social principles.

However, Rayvanny did not take the move lightly claiming that the song was exclusively dedicated to persons over the age of 18 saying they are the buyers of their work.

The public also had different opinions as some felt the song was okay while others thought it was right for Basata to ban the song.

The song has lyrics where Diamond Platnumz says he is scared of embattled socialite Ambers Rutty’s games in bed.

The socialite has been in trouble with Tanzanian authorities after a tape of her having anal intercourse emerged.

Even with the ban, the new song has spread wildly on the internet.

Mwanza becomes the third song by Wasafi to be banned after two Diamond’s songs Halleluyah featuring Morgan Heritage and Waka Waka featuring Rick Ross were banned earlier in January.
