Nairobi, KENYA: National men soccer team’s head coach Paul Put has resigned.

According to Football Kenya Federation FKF the Belgian tactician tendered his resignation letter on Monday citing personal reasons.

Put guided Kenya to win the 2017 Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations CECAFA in December where Harambee Stars edged Zanzibar on penalty shootouts.

The Belgian resignation comes barely three months after he replaced Stanley Okumbi as the head coach. The latter has now returned at the helm on an interim basis as confirmed by FKF.

The latest development is a setback to Harambee Stars who are preparing to face the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation qualifiers.
