Raila sworn in as “people’s president”

Nairobi, KENYA: Nasa leader Raila Odinga has taken the oath of office as the “People’s President”.

Odinga was sworn in on Tuesday afternoon at around 2:45 pm in the absence of fellow Principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

The oath was administered by former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna and Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang.

Among the leaders present were Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, David Ndii among other NASA leaders.

Odinga said he would later on explain why Kalonzo could not come to take the oath of office.

” Kalonzo will be sworn in later on for reasons we shall tell you later on. Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetanguala are still with us.” Said Raila.

Thousands of NASA supporters thronged at Uhuru Park to witness the historic event.
