Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu is reportedly in trouble with her neighbors over her links to gay people.
According to reports from a section of Tanzanian media houses Wema’s neighbors are uncomfortable with Wema harboring gay people in her Sala Sala home of Dares Salaam.
“Unajua tabia yake hii ni ya muda mrefu sana na imekuwa ikiwakera sana hasa majirani zake kwa sababu wengine wana watoto wa kiume na wamekwa wakiofia sana isije ikawaharibu watoto wao,
(She has been harboring them for a long time and her neighbors are pissed off and worried that exposure to such characters could affect their children)” one of the neighbors told Tanzanian media.
The source added that her neighbors were considering legal action against her or storming the house to chase them away as Wema had defied summons by the neighborhood elder over the matter.
However, Wema has constantly been linked to the gay community in Tanzania.
Last year a section of Tanzania media reported that Wema’s mother had stormed her house and chased away the gay people she had been harboring over fears of Wema being influenced by them.
Later the Tanzanian beauty told Global Publishers that she loves gay people and treats them as human.
“Mimi sijui ni kitu gani lakini ninawapenda sana hao watu na ninafurahi sana kuwa nao maana hata mama alikuwa hapendi kabisa kuona wapo kwangu lakini sasa amewazoea na ninaona hao ni binadamu kama mimi,”
(I don’t know why I love them so much and I feel happy being around them but my mother doesn’t like
seeing them in my house but I am used to living with them because to me they are human,” Wema said.
This comes as the Tanzanian government intensifies its crackdown on homosexuals in the country.
