Mombasa, KENYA: Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Sarai has filed an application to withdraw an election petition challenging Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s win in the Mombasa gubernatorial seat.

According to the application submitted on Tuesday, Mr.Omar said that he no longer had confidence in the neutrality of the presiding judge hearing the petition and he believes that he will not get justice.

“It will be hypocritical for the Petitioners to proceed with this matter when they believe that the honourable court is already biased against them.” read part of the application

This comes after lady justice Lydia Achode declined application filed by Omar seeking her recusal over biasness.
