Kilifi,KENYA:Angry residents have burnt a bus belonging to Simba coach in Msabaha area of Malindi in Kilifi county.
According to eye witnesses who spoke to Baraka FM,the bus had knocked and killed a boda boda rider when the angry residents decided to set it on fire.
The national disaster management unit confirmed the incident urging the members of the public not to take the law into their own hands in a statement released by the director of communications Pius Masai.
“It is unfortunate to lose lives but two wrongs don’t make a right,we continue appealing to drivers to observe traffic rules” reads part of the statement released by the NDMU.
The incident comes just a few days after the National Transport and Safety Authority issued night a travel ban for long distance public service vehicles in a bid to curb road carnage.
