One dead and two seriously injured in Kwale accident

Kwale,KENYA:One person has been reported dead and two other sustained injuries after they were involved in a road accident involving a lorry and a saloon car.

The accident took place at Mwangala in the outskirts of Kwale town some minutes before noon in Matuga sub County of Kwale County.

The deceased has been identified as  Hamis Jita and eye witnesses told Baraka FM that he  was a passenger in a private car where Said Mwamrima a former Tsimba Golini ward MCA aspirant was driving.

The deceased died on his way to hospital according to eye witnesses.

According to the lorry driver who identified himself as  Rajab, the saloon car driver lost control and rammed into the stationary lorry which had stopped to pave way for the car.

The lorry was transporting bricks from Likoni to Kwale town while the saloon car had just left Kwale town heading to Ukunda.

Three people who were in the lorry escaped unhurt.

Police at the scene refused to  talk to journalists since they claimed they were busy examining the incident.

This is the fourth accident witnessed in the county this week.

On Tuesday morning a man was burnt beyond recognition after  a Probox he was transporting charcoal with exploded after being knocked by an oncoming  lorry at check point area of  Matuga Sub-county.

Two lives have so far been lost and more than 10 injured in the various road carnage incidents in less than a week.
