Civil societies cross NGO board chair Fazul’s path again

Nairobi,KENYA:A group of civil societies operating under the Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu umbrella and We the people have been accused by the NGO coordination board chair Fazul Mohamed of operating without registration.

According the letter seen by Baraka FM written to the Kenya Human Rights Commision executive director George Kegoro, Kegoro is accused of operating illegal accounts for the two umbrella bodies under NIC bank and Citi Bank.

“It has come to our attention that your are financing The operations of an amorphous camarilla going by the names of Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu and We The People have subsequently opened and are operating illegal accounts… for purposes of funding political and flagitious operations in Kenya.” Reads part of the letter.

The letter goes further to allege that the two organizations received sh 36 milliion from the George Soros foundation to finance those activities.

The letter has further directed the bodies to cease all their political operations and electoral related programs and cut off engagements with charitable organizations.

This comes just a few hours after officials from the Muslim for Human Rights told media that they would not be appearing before the NGO coordination board as requested by the board to answer to allegations of non disclosure.
