DPP orders for arrest of Ruth Odinga and Kisumu Senator

Nairobi, KENYA: The director of public prosecution Kiriako Tobiko, has ordered the immediate arrest of Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and former Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga for allegedly attacking IEBC officials.

In a letter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI, the DPP noted that he had enough evidence to warrant prosecution of the two.

The two have been accused of entering an electoral centre designated by the IEBC without any authority contrary to section 13(h) of the constitution.

He said that the accused are guilty of obstructing an election officer in executing his duty, incitement to violence and malicious damage to property.

Keriako has further ordered the DCI to get the owner of the damaged property to the state, the extent of the damage incurred as well as take photos and exhibits of the damaged property during the violence.

He has also ordered P3 form on Diana Adhiambo who was allegedly assaulted and whisked away.
