Court grants police warrant to sieze Jimmy Wanjigi’s firearms

Nairobi,KENYA:A court in Nairobi on Tuesday granted an officer attached to Directorate of criminal investigations a search warrant to embattled Nairobi billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi houses.

The Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, authorized  officer Joseph Gichuki attached to the directorant a warrant to sieze firearms and ammunitions found within any of the Wanjigi premises  including the highend Caramel club on ABC place Westlands.

“To enter and search the premises/dwelling houses inhabited(whether temporarily or permanently  and controlled by the respondent to wit but not limited  to house  number 44 at Muthaiga estate along Muthaiga road,kwacha along General Mathenge house in Westlands and Caramel club within ABC place along Waiyaki way among other premises.”Reads part of the court warrant.

The warrant also allows the investigating officer to sieze and carry any documents related to the commission of an unspecified offence by the billionaire.

It is not clear why police have ordered a search warrant against the NASA allied on the billionaire but unconfirmed reports state that it would be linked to some weapons recovered from a house in Malindi on Monday.

The weapons included AK47 riffles, 93 rounds of ammunition and used catridges.

Police also raided another of his residents in the Upmarket neighborhood of Muthaiga in Nairobi on Monday afternoon.
