Chebukati denied powers to correct poll errors

Nairobi,KENYA:The Supreme Court judges have denied the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati powers to edit polls errors submitted through forms 34b in the upcoming October 26th elections.

In a ruling read out by the deputy Chief justice Philomena Mwilu, Chebukati said the forms would only be altered under the supervision of the supreme court.

“ The officials of the first respondent are to manage the  presidential election result in the event the verification exercises is envisaged divulges inconsistencies and  clerical mathematical errors between the results delared at the polling station and the subsequent tallied results” read out the judgement by the deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu.

Chebukati was seeking a directive of the court on what action to take incase the results on form 34b were incorrectly captured.
