Police raid renown businessman’s house in Malindi, recover five AK47 guns

Kilifi, KENYA: Police in Malindi on  Monday raided a house belonging to a renown businessman and recovered five AK 47 rifles.

Police also recovered 93 rounds of ammunition of 7.6mm.

Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi told Baraka FM that four workers were apprehended and are helping police in investigations.

“We got a tipoff from public and we carried out the dawn raid from 12 am to 11 am,for now we can’t reveal the identity of the businessman until the investigations are over,” said police boss.

He said the raid was conducted by officers from different agencies,

He said the at fast the they were informed that the house belonged to an Italian but they were yet to establish the truth.

“We also found three used cartridges and we want to find out where it was used and for what purpose,” added Mr Muchangi.

The house is along Ngoa road in Malindi.

The billionaire is said to own several businesses in the country and is closely associated to politicians.
