Busia,KENYA:President Uhuru Kenyatta says that the election amendment bill fronted  by national assembly majority leader Adan Duale will fill the void created by the Supreme Court after the election was annulled.

While speaking in the Western county of Busia in Friday , Uhuru said the  ammedment would ensure that an election belonged to the voters and not the candidates.

“There is no way that the Government will allow any person to block any voter from exercising their right to choose the leader or leaders of their choice,”Kenyatta said.

Jubilee allied legislators have expressed hope to have passed the bill before the October 26th elections.

The proposed amendment among other  changes  seeks to have  a remaining candidate declared as president should a candidate withdraw from a two horse race presidential election.

Have the manual results prevail where there is a discrepancy between the manually transmitted results and the electronically transmitted results.

Seek to failure to transmit electronic results ivalidated as a valid reason to invalidate and election.

Seek to have the IEBC commission vice chair become chairperson in the absence of the chairperson.

Leaders of the National Super  Alliance have strongly opposed the election amendment bill which prompted the collapse of talks between the IEBC , the Jubilee party and the NASA party in regards to the October 26 elections that were scheduled for Thursday.
