Nairobi, KENYA: A section of Coast region National Super Alliance Members of Parliament have blasted the coalition for failing to include any legislator from the region in the parliamentary house leadership.

In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings on Monday, led by Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori, they accused the NASA coalition for failing to recognize them in key appointment in house leadership, saying that ODM chair John Mbadi clandestinely forwarded the names of legislators who were elected in the key positions to the clerk of the National Assembly.

During the induction retreat of MPs in Nairobi, it emerged that in the 12th parliament opposition leadership entails John Mbadi who will be the Minority leader in the National Assembly, deputized by Ayub Savula while Robert Mbui was given a slot of chief whip deputized by Chris Wamalwa.

He accused ODM chair John Mbadi for the mess, arguing that they were not privy to the whole issue which they indicate was supposed to be tackled after the repeat of elections.

“If they decided to take such decision as a coalition, we as coast leaders we reject it . We will not back it. if we are we are not recognized ,we will look a place where we will be recognized.”Dori said

They threatened to take action against the coalition if it does not mover with speed to salvage the situation, insisting that they are not ready to back those whose names were forwarded to clerk of the National Assembly.

“This was a communication that was officially read out at the retreat, the names were read out loud and clear, from the leader of minority ,and the rest of other positions .”Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo said.

Dori said that it is unfair for the coalition to take such actions, following the fact that the Coast has been strongly supporting the coalition politically.
