Kisii legislators demand petition against Maraga to be dropped

Nairobi,KENYA:Kisii county parliamentary legislators have given Nyeri town member of parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu  a 24 hours ultimatum to withdraw a petition  he filed touching on the removal of Chief Justice David Maraga.
In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings led by Kitutu chache North legislator Jimmy Angwenyi ,condemned Ngunjiri’s move saying that such action was  in bad faith.
Angwenyi demanded that the legislator  withdraw the petition within 24 hours failure to which he will battle it out in courts whereby the MP will  move swiftly to be  enjoined in the  case.
“We have given him till tomorrow to withdraw Justice Maraga’s petition or else we will be enjoined in the case”Angwenyi said
He termed Ngunjiri’s action as precarious following the meeting with president Uhuru Kenyatta held on Wednesday at state house Nakuru with a section of leaders from   Kisii to iron out issues with the community after he blasted the Supreme court’s ruling on the just concluded polls.
The legislators said that the MP ought to have waited the details of the supreme court judgement before taking such action.
