Nairobi,KENYA:Civil society group under Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu on Wednesday held demonstrations across Nairobi to  demand the arrest of  Independent Electorate and Boundaries Commission IEBC  officers that were involved in  misconduct leading to the nullification of the August 8th elections.

The group is called upon the director of  public prosecution Keriako Tobiko to take bold action by opening a court case against the officers that led to the nullification of the polls.

Addressing the media on Wednesday in Nairobi, Kenya National for Human Right Commission  chairman George Kengoro stated that, action should be taken to those that are implicated to have breached  the constitution and election act and be   used as an example to others.

“We demand action against the IEBC officers that ignored simple constitution rules and decided to do the elections on their own way. We demand also the DPP to act on them in the court of law.” Said Kengoro.

Kengoro who was among other leaders, led the group to the IEBC offices in Anniversary Towers  and filed a petition to demand  answers from the IEBC  chairman Wafula Chebukati  on the issues facing  Chief Executive Officer  Ezra Cheloba, as he was instrumental in monitoring of the transmission of elections results that was found not to be credible by the Supreme Court.

They later moved to the office of DPP with an aim of being addressed on the way forward by the director of public prosecution.
