Nairobi, KENYA:The Supreme court on Friday invalidated Uhuru win in the general elections conducted on August 8th, calling for fresh presidential elections to be conducted in 60 days.
The verdict was delivered by Chief Justice David Maraga with two out of the 6 supreme court judges, Justices Jackton Ojwang’ & Njoki Ndung’u, dissenting.
“Upon considering Constitution & elections, IEBC failed to carry out election as per Constitution &Elections Act.” Said CJ Maraga.
Justice Mohammed Ibrahim was not present during the ruling as he was reported ill.
