Man charged in court for illegally harbouring Ethiopian nationals

Mombasa, KENYA: A man was on Monday charged in a Mombasa court for allegedly harbouring two Ethiopian nationals illegally.

The court heard that Kamanza Bahati harboured Taphas Ijawure and Ibrahim Siumi who were alleged to be unlawfully in the Country.

Mr.Bahati denied the charges before chief magistrate Julias Nang’ea.

The accused person allegedly haboured Ijawure and Siumi in his house in Likoni area Mombasa county.

The three were arrested on the 25th August at 7am.

Mr.Nang’ea ordered the accused person released on a surety bond of sh.200, 000.

The hearing date is set on 4th September.

The court further directed prosecution to bring an Ethiopia interpreter in court, before the two Ethiopians are charged.

This is after the court learned that they did not understand both English and Swahili language.
