3 injured in petroleum terminal fire in Mombasa

Mombasa,KENYA:3 people have been feared injured and  property of unknown  worth destroyed after a fire engulfed an oil terminal of Mbaraki area in Mombasa.

According to eye witnesses who spoke to Baraka FM the fire started at around 12.00 noon .

“I heard what sounded like an explosion followed by thick smoke” Stephen Wafula an eye witnesses told Baraka FM.

The National disaster management in a statement  confirmed the incident urging residents to stay way from the area to allow for  rescue operations to flow smoothly.

The fire comes at the Mbaraki bulk terminal which handles petroleum related cargo comes just a day after the Mombasa county commissioner Evans Achoki banned oil Tankers from the roads during the election period.
