NASA popularity rises in Mombasa as Jubilee falls, shows latest polls

Mombasa, KENYA: The latest poll carried out by Trends and Insights Africa TIFA, shows a rise in popularity for NASA in Mombasa and a fall in Jubilee, in a research carried out between March and July 2017.

According to the Polls released on Monday, NASA’s popularity rose from 66% to 70% while Jubilee dropped from 23% to 21%.

The percentage of undecided voters also reduced from 10% in March to 8% in July.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s popularity dropped from 29% to 27%, while Raila Odinga’s rose from  66% to 67%.

A total of 527 registered voters were interviewed from the 5 constituencies in Mombasa; Jomvu, Nyali, Likoni, Changamwe, Kisauni and Mvita.

In the Gubernatorial race, incumbent governor Hassan Ali Joho continues to lead with 74% followed by Suleiman Shahbal 12%, Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar comes in 3rd with 6%, undecided voters 4% and lastly Hezron Awiti Bollo with 2 %.

On the other hand, in the Senatorial race ODM’s Mohammed Faki leads the pack with 43%, followed by a larger percentage of undecided voters 28%, Hazel Katana 9%, Mwaguya Hamisi 6%, Jabes Oduor 4%, Yasser Bajaber 3% and lastly Lawrence Kimeu and Mohammed Abbas tie at 2%.

In the Woman Rep. race Asha Hussein Mohhamed leads the pack with 40%.
