6 police officers have been confirmed dead in an attack by suspects pokot bandits in Laikipia county.
Eye witnesses say the six died when their convoy was shot at by a group of bandits who had earlier attacked people at the Laikipia conservancy.
Laikipia county commissioner Onesmas Kyatha who spoke to Baraka FM confirming the attack.
“6 police officers died after being ambushed by bandits on Wednesday evening.The government is doing all it takes to secure the area and more police officers have been deployed to the area to look for the bandits who have escaped” Kyatha said
Reports indicate that police firearms were also lost in the process.
