Education CS Fred Matiang’i has been appointed by president Uhuru Kenyatta to take over the interior ministry following the demise of the Interior CS Joseph Nkaiserry.
“I have taken the decision to appoint Dr Fred Matiangi as the acting Minister for Internal Security to ensure that there is no vacuum,” The president said.
The president said that that move was aimed at ensuring that a security vacuum was not left out.
Meanwhile reports indicate that the late CS’s Hellen Nkaiserry wife has been admitted at a Nairobi hospital.
