Nairobi,KENYA: A reporter with Baraka FM on Tuesday won two accolades in the annual Energy Journalism Excellence Awards EJEA held in Nairobi.
Hillary Makokha emerged victorious in the green initiatives category following his story that touched on energy saving jiko dubbed “jiko koa”.
Makokha who doubles up as a court reporter, also emerged overall 1st runners up in the competition.
He highlighted the benefits of the jiko to not only the environment but also to its user’s health.
His win cemented Baraka fm’s dominance in journalism excellence awards both local and international.
The gala held at Safari park hotel was presided over by Energy and petroleum CS Charles Keter.
The winner of each category received trophies, certificates and cash prizes.
