Okumbi unveils 20-man squad for Sierra Leone duel

Nairobi, KENYA: Harambee Stars first coach Stanley Okumbi has named a 20-man squad for the Saturday’s first leg 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers match against hosts Sierra Leone.

Former Bandari FC forward Masoud Juma who has starred with Kenyan Premier League KPL newbie Kariobangi Sharks and Boniface Muchiri of Sony Sugar made the cut for the first time.

Meanwhile, the 2015 KPL top scorer Jesse Were who ply his trade with Zambian outfit Zesco United was left out after picking up a nock during training on Tuesday, joining Aboud Omar and Johanna Omollo who pulled out with respective injuries.

Other debutants in the travelling squad, are Gor Mahia midfielder Ernest Wendo and Tusker FC’s   Jackson Machari who joins the team set to leave for Freetown, Sierra Leone on Thursday.

Goalkeepers: Boniface Oluoch, Patrick Matasi

Defenders: Eric Ouma, David Owino, David Ochieng, Brian Mandela, Simon Mbugua, Joseph Okumu, Musa Mohammed

Midfielders: Boniface Muchiri, Victor Wanyama, Anthony Akumu, Ayub Timbe, Ernest Wendo, Jackson Macharia, Stephen Waruru, Eric Johanna

Strikers: Masoud Juma, Michael Olunga, Samuel Onyango
