Kilifi, KENYA: Police in kilifi have seized an ivory haul worth over Sh. 12 million in Mariakani area.

Three suspects were also arrested in the Monday operation led by a team of detectives from DCI and Kenya Wildlife Services.

Kilifi police boss Alexander Makau told Baraka FM on phone the officers were acting on intelligence reports and arrested the three suspects with the consignment hidden in a house.

He said the suspects are believed to be linked to local ivory traffickers.

He said the three suspects intended to smuggle the ivory into the international market where the demand for ivory is high.
