Mombasa, KENYA: Two more people have been reported dead in Mikindani Mombasa, after a wall collapsed on their house following heavy rainfall experienced in the coastal region.
The death toll has inceased to eight, after six people died on Monday in kizingo area, Mombasa island.
The Monday 8pm incident happened in Maporomokoni area in Mikindani
Those killed are a father and her daughter in the Monday night tragedy. The mother is admitted at ICU at the Coast General Hospital, police said.
Changamwe police chief Peter Omwana confirmed to Baraka FM that a four-year-old girl and her 30-year-old father died on the spot.
“The wall collapsed and the three were trapped inside their house,by the time we got there the two had died but the woman was seriously injured,’’ said police boss.
He advised the residents to move to a safer places to avoid further deaths.
