Mombasa,KENYA:The nomination exercise for the wiper party primaries has kicked off in major parts of Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta counties. However the exercise was temporarily delayed at Ziwa la Ng’ombe polling station in Nyali constituency as a result of delayed delivery of polling materials.

This caused confusion and to the voters who were at the polling station as early as 6 am.

One voter, who identified himself as Koch Said, told Baraka FM that voters were worried if the exercise would take place as planned.

However he confirmed to Baraka FM that voting materials arrived at around 9am, and voting had started.

“The station was to be opened at 6am, but surprising it was not yet up to 90am, that’s when people began to be suspicious. But now everything is okay and things are going on as planned” said Koch Said.

Nominations will not be conducted in Lamu, Tana river and Kwale counties as all the aspirants in those counties received direct nomination tickets.
