ANC national election board announces national and coastal nomination dates

Nairobi, KENYA: Amani National congress national election board has announced its party primaries which are set to kick off as from 3rd of April 2017.

In a media briefing at party headquarters in Nairobi, National elections board chair Prof Martin Etyang said that the party decided to hold its primaries in order to abide by the independent and electoral commission nominations deadline of 27th of April 2017.

Prof Etyang said that coastal counties nomination exercise including Mombasa Kilifi ,Kwale and TanaRiver is scheduled on April 9th and hearing of petitions will be conducted on 10th of April 2017.

He also indicated that party primaries for Lamu and Taita will be conducted as from 20th of April and petitions will be heard as from 21st of April.

He pointed that the Nairobi county exercise scheduled on 13th of April might be rescinded if the NASA negotiations finds it fit to conduct joint nominations.

He urged the party aspirants to comply with the party nomination requirements by Friday 24th of March 2017, failure to which they will locked out of the nomination process.

The board will forward results to the party secretariat by April 25.

He added that aspirants from 37 counties across the country will take part in the exercise.
