Mombasa,KENYA:Over 3000 jobs are expected to be created as the government plans to revive the Kenya National Shipping line.

According to the government spokesperson Manoah Esipisu foreign shareholders were planning to stop working with the national shipping line.

“Negotiations are at an advanced stage for the exit of foreign shareholders who have expressed desire to cease working with KNLS, due to KNSL having become a parastatal,” Esipisu told reporters on Sunday.

Experts say the revival of the shipping line has the ability to boost the Kenyan economy with over sh.300 billion annually.

The Kenya National shipping line was established in 1988 by the government as has been dormant for over 2 decades.
