Mombasa, KENYA: 18 Somalis were on Monday charged in a Mombasa court for allegedly being in the country without valid documents.
The accused persons including 3 minors, denied the charges before Mombasa resident magistrate Gideon Kiage.
They were arrested on Saturday evening at Mwembe Tayari area in Mombasa County.
Mr.Kiage ordered the refugee affair secretariat to interview the 18 somalis and file a report in court on Wednesday.
“Meanwhile the 15 accused persons will be detained at Shimo la Tewa remand while the 3 minors taken to Likoni Juvenile,” said Kiage.
