London, ENGLAND: Kenya’s Sportpesa All Stars lost 2-1 to selected Hull City side in a friendly match played at the KCOM stadium in England on Monday night.

A first half strike from a 16-year old Elliot Holmes and a 64th minute own goal from Gor Mahia defender Harun Shakava gave Hull City’s reserve team the victory.

Sportpesa All Stars earned its consolation through Tusker FC midfielder Humphrey Mieno who scored a screamer minutes from time.

The defeat means All Stars missed the chance to take home Sh.1.5m they were promised had they had beaten Hull City in the match organized by local gambling firm Sportpesa.

All Stars is a group of players selected from Kenyan Premier League clubs after a series of training sessions conducted by local coaches and their Hull City counterparts.

The match was meant to expose the local lads in a program aimed at preparing the national soccer team Harambee Stars for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
