Kenyan teams both men and women settled for third position as the fourth edition of the Roll Ball World cup curtains came down in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Women’s team failed to defend the title it won in 2015, after going down 3-2 to Iran before bouncing back to humiliate Senegal 8-1 in third place play-offs match.

Identically, men’s team who were chasing their maiden title saw their dreams varnished after losing 10-4 to defending champions India in the semis.

The Jared Onyango coached side then stunned hosts Bangladesh 7-1 in the play off to finish third, eclipsing fourth position they settled for in the last edition.

Kenya had not tasted defeat en route to semis, registering convincing victories against Senegal 4-0, Denmark 5-3 and Sri Lanka 5-0.

The performances however attract attention owing to the fact that the two teams nearly missed the championship as they were rocked by financial crisis which saw them put shoddy preparations.
