Kenyans urged to use funds wisely after winning lottery

Nairobi, KENYA: Kenyans who emerge as jackpot winners in different lotteries across the country have been urged to use the money they win wisely; to expand the economy.

Speaking in Nairobi on Teusday after presenting 10 million cheques to people who won the December 2016 festive season jackpot, Pambazuka national CEO Paul Kinuthia said that there is need for the winners to initiate projects which will generate income in a bid to grow the economy.

“Our mission as an organisation is to provide revenue generating entertainment through sale of innovative lottery products that provide economic benefits to Kenyans.” Kinuthia said.

“We will be working closely with the winners and other partners to provide financial management skills to enable them invest.”He added.

He also warned Kenyans to be wary of trappings of conmen in the industry and make sure that they participate in only registered lottery companies during competition.
