London, England: Tottenham Hot Spurs stopped Chelsea from recording their 14th consecutive English Premier League victory by beating Antonio Conte’s sides 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

A brace from English international Dele Alli, helped Spurs to retaliate the 2-1 defeat they suffered in the reverse fixture and moved third in the standings on 42 points.

Chelsea who went into the match on the back of 13 straight victories, remain at the apex but have their lead reduced to five points off second placed Liverpool who have 44 points.

Meanwhile, the result saw Arsenal dropped to fifth, two points better than sixth placed Manchester United who have improved recently winning six matches on the spin.

The Premier League will resume on the weekend of January 14, with Chelsea travelling to face the reigning champions Leicester City as Manchester United welcome Liverpool.

The Gunners Arsenal will be up against stubborn Middlesbrough, while limping Manchester City will be away at Goodison Park to tackle hosts Everton.
