Mandera,KENYA:The government on Tuesday extended curfew in Mandera County which was to end on today (27th December 2016) by three months.
In October, the government announced 60 days of curfew in Mandera County after two al-shabaab militant attacks.
In a gazette notice, interior minister Joseph Nkaissery has extended the curfew by three months in efforts to tame terrorism in the area.
He said the curfew, from 6:30pm to 6:30 am would begin on Wednesday 28th December 2017 and remain in place until 28th March 2017.
It will also be enforced a long a 20 kilometer zone of towns and territory reaching to Somalia border.
